It’s normal to have emotions and react to those emotions.
But what happens when those emotions and reactions become unmanageable?
If you’re tired of living out the same old patterns and want more from yourself, you’ve come to the right place!
I’m here to help you change how you interact with yourself, others, and the world. Whether you’re an adult child of immigrants, an entrepreneur, a chronic people-pleaser, an ex-pat, or an ex-evangelical…
I can help you process your racial, cultural, spiritual, and professional identity to bring freedom and agency back into your life.
Understanding and acceptance…
You want to be in a different place in life. I get it!
But to know where you’re going, we first need to know where you are.
I want to better understand who you are, where you’re coming from, and why you are who you are. As I seek to understand and accept you…
I challenge you to do the same: to understand and accept yourself.
Diving deep…
Many of my clients have expressed reservations about unearthing their past experiences because they’re too painful or don’t seem immediately relevant to their present situation.
That’s all the more reason to dive in!
By understanding and healing from the deep pains of the past, you’ll be more equipped to handle the pains of the present.
Practical tools…
To feel different, we must do something different.
Insight alone is insufficient for healing; let’s move and do what your body needs.
That’s the key to managing your body’s fight-or-flight response, regulating volatile emotions, and setting appropriate boundaries to help your relationships flourish.
These are some of the practical tools you can expect to learn.
What it looks like…
By now, you’re probably comfortable with virtual meetings, so it shouldn’t feel alarming when my face suddenly pops up and fills your screen. You can expect to feel safe in this context, and I’ll often check in with you to make sure that’s how you feel. We chat for a bit as we get comfortable with each other. Then, of course, we get into why you are here.
Together, we unravel the intricacies of your past and how they shape your present reality. Sharing your experiences requires vulnerability, but you feel more at ease as you understand the purpose of revisiting the past and making connections you’ve never made before. It can be painful or uncomfortable to change patterns you’ve had your whole life…
But I’ll be there to support, encourage, and cheer you on every step of the way.
This is your invitation…
It’s your chance to lean into this work – into the hope that things CAN change for the better.
In therapy, you’ll gain insight and the ability to regulate your emotions. You’ll learn to short-circuit your default behavioral patterns and take action to be the person you want to be.
Healing comes from authentically engaging in life…

About Me
I’ve always enjoyed helping people.
When I was in middle school, I liked to play therapist and listen to my friends’ problems.
I even attempted some couples counseling (as much as a middle schooler can)!
Of course, I had no idea what I was doing and had no concept of appropriate boundaries…
But these experiences were early hints that I’d eventually pursue therapy as a career.
I’m a second-generation Korean-American.
I also moved around the globe growing up, so I had to learn to navigate different cultures.
I’m also married to a Honduran woman, so I’ve learned to be adaptable and connect to people of all backgrounds. I appreciate how experience can be complicated… and how nuances can be overlooked or dismissed.
I bring all these parts of myself to help you.
Some of my professional background…
I received my Master of Science in marriage and family therapy, and I’m now a marriage and family therapist (LMFT #141541), licensed in California.
I’m certified in Restoration Therapy (Level II), a modality for couples focusing on emotional regulation and mindfulness to affirm partners’ identities and need for safety. I’m also certified in Prepare/Enrich, a premarital assessment that’s been used successfully for over 40 years.
When I’m not doing therapy…
I love connecting with people at home: inviting friends for meals, playing board games, or simply sitting with my wife.
While relaxing, you’ll often find me sipping on freshly brewed tea as I flip the virtual pages of my latest Kindle download.
